Lake George, nicknamed the Queen of American Lakes is a long, narrow lake at the southeast base of the Adirondack Mountains, northern New York. The lake extends about 32.2 miles on a north-south axis and varies from 1 to 3 miles in width. Although the year-round population of the Lake George region is relatively small, the summertime population can reach to over 500,000 residents, especially in the Lake George village region on the south end of the lake.
